Forum Cover
The Forum is a quarterly publication put out by the La Trobe University Politics Society. The editor required a cover that worked as a response to the Coalition’s defeat in November 2007. The brief was to create an illustration that was similar to the US Presidential seal but with Australian motifs, such as the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo.
I wanted the illustration to have a 1950s feel and used soft grades and realistic dimensions. The shield represents two groups, Indigenous Australians and workers, that perhaps didn’t thrive under the previous government. The tone is hopeful but questioning, the banner reading “In Change we Trust” in Latin.
